ROK Cup Italy South Garda

Another life experience as a new round of the ROK Cup Italy took place at South Garda Karting, where a total of 61 drivers lined up at the start.

The final was held in the dark with lights on the track, which was an incredibly cool experience.

We had two test days on the track before the race started on Saturday.

Qualifying: P15, it wasn’t the result we hope for. The speed was actually there for the top positions, but I ended up in a bad spot, and since qualifying is only 6 minutes long, unfortunately, I did’t not get a better time.

Heat 1: P16-P23, started by passing four drivers in the first 5 corners, then got hit from behind, causing the axle to bend, so limped to the finish line.

Heat 2: P15-P13, was up to P9 but with an incident in the last corner and a bumper, unfortunately, it ended at P13.

Heat 3: P15-P4, we raced in the twilight darkness and were flying from the start. We had the 3rd fastest time in the heat, even though we had to overtake 11 drivers in 10 laps. A lot of good overtakes.

Final: P26-P13, it turned into a fantastic final in the dark, where there were again many good overtakes and again the 3rd fastest time in the heat.

It was a day of ups and downs, but there was fantastic mental and physical strength shown even after three days in 35-40 degree sunshine.

And a huge learning experience once again, and it is still only the third race we have done in Italy.
